This category replaces the existing mailing list for all communication regarding archaeology under the Open Knowledge umbrella. This forum is a more welcoming venue than email-based discussion and allows for greater integration with other initiatives in the wider Open Science movement.
The objectives of the working group include:
- Act as a central point of reference and support for people interested in open archaeological data
- Identify relevant projects and practices
- Promote best practices as well as legal and technical standards for making data open
- Act as a hub for the development and maintenance of low cost, community driven projects related to open data and archaeology
