Creating better documentation to group owners

Hi All!

I am getting a lot os questions from new groups on how to open and manage a healthy group on our discourse.

Currently we have these guide (Thank you @Stephen!) -How to Request a new Local Group , set up a category guide and this - Local Groups pilot

Who can help me to tidy this up a bit and add some more information about this, for example, tips for moderators?

I can fill in details about how to manage the groups, add badges, etc as they exist here: Open Knowledge Forums

Here’s some suggestions from Discourse.

And some of my own…

  • Fill out your profile.

  • Introduce yourself by replying at the bottom this topic.

  • Welcome new members by  liking their introduction. This earns you a [badge]
(Open Knowledge Forums) (collect them all!).

  • Don’t worry if you make a mistake, you can edit your post or move it to another category.

  • If you get stuck, ask for help. We’re a friendly bunch.

  • If you think people may read your post the wrong way, add one of the many emoticons :grinning: :scream: :tada: by typing something like  or pressing the happy face button in the toolbar

  • spam so moderators can delete it and block the user.

  • Seed your category with some questions. Even if you think you know the answer, you may be surprised at the ideas a diverse community can generate.
