Does a CKAN - DataCite connection exist?

I am interested in understanding how the CKAN community interacts with DataCite and the DataCite Metadata Standard. One amazing example is the EnviDat Catalog (https://ecosystem.ckan.org/site/lwf-envidat-data-portal) which has some of the most complete DataCite metadata in the world (https://commons.datacite.org/repositories/ethz.wsl). They go far beyond the “get a DOI with the just the minimum metadata” use case into metadata that supports all of the FAIR Principles.

I am trying to find out if there are other CKAN Ecosystem members in this catagory or on their way there.

https://data.nhm.ac.uk/about/datacite is one of the most impressive CKAN sites I know of that uses DataCite.

They created ckanext-doi and ckanext-query-dois and a whole collection of other impressive CKAN extensions.

Thanks for this information. A quick look at these suggests that they are focused on minimum metadata for a DOI from DataCite, which is by far the most common use case. Using the FAIRness use cases I have been using, they generally score at or below the DataCite Average (~24%).

For example, the Natural History Museum is at 12%, the absolute minimum, i.e. just mandatory elements:

So, EnviDat is still the outstanding example (48%):

Wanted to let the CKAN Community know about a blog post about metadata improvement and a interoperability project that EnviDat, a CKAN community member, is involved in. This project involves four different Swiss repositories and metadata improvements across the board. The blog posts describes how metadata changes were used to discover the project.

Doing some work trying to grok software platform from DataCite repository data. Our first draft thinks there are 43 repositories using CKAN. This is the list… If you are associated with one of these, please let me know!

We are trying to figure out the platforms in a number of ways. At this point this list should be considered a starting point… Would be great to have a way of confirming…
