In my work environment, we often have to solve similar issues repeatedly, either for clients, or our own software needs. Sometimes we go through the steps again due to not having a central knowledge base software. Can anyone recommend one with the criteria in the title?
To give you an idea, something with the feature-list of phpMyFAQ looks ideal, but I’m holding off on it because the most recent reviews indicate that it has many issues. OpenKM also looks very promising but doesn’t seem to have Mac support, which means the majority of computers in our office wouldn’t work it. Also considering DocuWiki.
Even if your recommended software is not open source or not PHP based but it works great for you or you know that it works great for someone else, feel free to share. One of the issues here is that it will take a lot of time to migrate to one system, so I want to get it right the first time, which is why I want to hear about the personal experience of people here.
It’s important that it’s stable, secure, and reliable, because this is a business environment.
