Tabular location data - what are my options?

I’m considering tabular location data (in a CSV file), rather than a geo data package that requires the data in GeoJSON format :earth_asia:

Contributions to the (very draft) tabular location data Google doc are welcome.

… Perhaps the correct focus are the geo datatypes (geometry, points, etc.), at table-schema/types-and-formats
instead another “tabular format”…

I have based the document predominantly on the geo datatype in table-schema/types-and-formats. I think some of those formats are impractical and am exploring others.

@Stephen i did have plans that the geo data package would allow “GeoCSV” i.e. CSV with columns using the geo formats we have e.g. geopoint or geojson in a column.
