*Our main objective is to contribute to the global open data index by reporting on the state of open data in Cameroon, with a local open data census.
We will be taking this chance to contribute to this year`s index. Ideally we will be focusing broadly on open data themes, our main aim is to
identify the status of all the 15 key dataset,and also to discuss the state of data in Cameroon.
we will bring together people from around the government
to talk about budget, spending ,and procurement tender datasets.

The open data day was greatly and successfully hosted and celebrated in Cameroon by netsquared Yaoundé community on the team Empowering Cameroonians to accelerate open data,
The event was hosted in pareclete institute in mvop mbi, which brought together multi stake holders
And student, to empower them on how to advance open data in this part of the world,
The event started at 3pm with a theoretical session and ended with a practical workshop at 7pm in the night,
The theoretical session was hosted to empower participant on the basic concept of open data, it importance, and how it could be accelerated. It was also definitely done through a power point presentation from panel members to share examples on the impact of open data on government intermediaries, education and Agriculture in strengthening an effective citizen’s engagement. And the importance of the interception of the various data sets,
While the practical workshop was main to empower participant on how to blog data and share it for it to be used, reused and distributed on platform like social medial and website when made accessible,
The event ended with a meetup aiming to discuss possible means by which they can form a great network to advance the movement in the country by hosting regional workshops to advance the open data movement in the various regions starting from May 2016,
The event was dearly felt and appreciated by every participant presently we are waiting to see the result of the regional workshops starting in May,

We intend to view and comment on the the status of the veriou set and also evaluate the level of openness, so that we can contribute
And improve the level of open data in our country , we evaluated the level of openness for 2015, we came to realized that much work needed to have been done during 2016 to advance the level of openness,
By evaluating the 2016 submission we will know the next step to take to advanced our local network in cameroon
