Hi all, I am Laia. I come from Spain and I have been living and working in the UK for the last 4 years. I moved to Sweden a few months ago due to my partner’s relocation and I’m looking for an opportunity to get into the Swedish job market. Hello everyone!

My name is Teodora (but you can call me Dora for short! ) and I came to Sweden in 2022 in order to be together with my soon-to-be husband. Since I am planning to live here for the rest of my life, I am in search of opportunities that allow me to meet new people and expand my network in order to have an easier integration process (learning the language helped a lot too). I have studied Communication and PR for my bachelor and I have two master`s degrees - one in European Studies and one in European Public Policies.

I was happy when I found this volunteering position and I am very excited to help with the event organizing and the communication part, hoping that I will learn something new every!

Nice to meet you all and cant wait to work with you
Kindest regards,

Dora

Hello! Theo here, I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer and Systems Sciences. I noticed that handlingar.se were looking for someone to assist with administrative work related to databases. I completed a course in database methodology last spring that I found both informative and interesting. I applied to become a volunteer because I am keen to learn more about everything within the field of IT, and I want to increasingly apply what I’ve studied. Last semester, I served as a course leader and lecturer within the SeniorNet organization, were I taught and prepared classes for seniors in regards to tech use and personal security. I am really looking forward to contributing to this team and to handlingar.se.

Best regards, Theo Q

Hey there

I’m a lawyer from Sweden who just joined to create social media content and contribute to the graphic profile of Open Knowledge.

After six years of studying + three years in corporate, I’m pivoting to follow my dream and become a graphic designer! I need to build up experience, so this is really an amazing opportunity for me.

Great, but why would a lawyer be suitable as our content creator (those people are so boring), you might think? Don’t stop reading!

Because of my background, I have a good grasp of our fundamental rights and freedoms in Sweden, including the laws and principles on publicity. Personally, I think transparency is hugely important, not least in a democracy, so I genuinely align with the core values of the organization.

On the creative side, I absolutely love developing communication strategies and visual concepts, and arouse interest through color, image, text and form. It’s like this amazing form of communication that knows no borders.

Every presentation, brochure, promotional email, training, etc. I’ve ever worked on, even though it wasn’t even my job to design, has started a fire in me that’s been impossible to ignore. It hasn’t always been to my advantage in my current profession, but it has motivated me to do several fun things - not least on social media!

Social media can be such a powerful tool, and I think it’s becoming a crucial part of society. I have professional and personal experience of utilizing LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to name a few. I’m eager to contribute to an organization that sees and understands the value of quality content, especially to promote democratic cornerstones.

If you’ve read this far - thank you

I’m super excited to start contributing and connecting with people who are passionate about the project, all while having a lot of fun!
