About the Sweden category

Hi y’all! I’m a master’s student at Stockholm University in international and comparative education, and I’m interested in policy research and data. I’ve always enjoyed volunteering, but my study schedule keeps me quite busy. My Swedish is also still limited. This volunteer opportunity is perfect to fit into my busy study schedule and the language limitation.

Hello,

My name is Dana Ghafour and I am studying Computer Science at KTH. I will be entering my second year of studies this fall. So far, I have acquired a broad knowledge base in programming languages such as Java, C, and Assembly. I have also taken a course called Engineering Methodology, which covers project management, methodologies, group dynamics, and more, which I hope will be useful. We have also had the opportunity to work with Ubuntu/Linux in a virtual machine (VM) during the course. Within this environment, we have performed programming in the C language and familiarized ourselves with various text editors available in the operating system. We have also been able to write code through the terminal and engage in similar activities. In addition to this, I have independently learned the basics of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and Python. I am looking forward to deepening my knowledge of these languages during the upcoming academic year.

Apart from this, I am generally curious to expand my knowledge and delve into the various tasks that can arise within the field of IT.

Look forward to knowing you all and help with my contributions.

Best regards,
Dana

Hi everyone!
My name is Mattia, nice to e-meet you.
My educational background consists of a bachelor in industrial design and a master’s degree in communication design at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where I’m from.
I work as a Sr. Service Designer in Futurice, a tech and digital consulting company.
My job is to answer business needs by turning them into functioning and useful services for people that improve potential aspects of their lives. To do this, it is necessary to map these solutions and plan their implementation and communication.
For years I have facilitated workshops and vehicle information among different stakeholders.

So, combining this with my interest in the public sector and supporting people I am applying for this volunteer position to make my contribution to the cause, simplifying and making information more accessible for the community. I have also taken specific courses in data visualization in the past that could be of useful application. It would be very interesting for me to learn about the world of Swedish institutions from the inside, to be up-to-date on data and to participate in civic life by supporting it.
I have been living in Sweden for a year and a half, speaking Italian and English. I am currently learning Swedish.

Looking forward to work with you!

Hi @Sara_Ghanbari This forum-platform is specific for people who engage in these questions on open data and Freedom of Information et.c. all around the world. It’s to facilitate the discussion.

We prefer this because it is as you say it is separate and secure from Facebook but also built for discussions, engaging and organizing. Facebook is one of our social media channels which we hope to increase use of in order to reach the public. This separate forum is for the people already interested in helping out as volunteers such as yourself.

Hi everyone,
I am Sara, Italian based in Sweden.
I recently graduated from a Master of Science in Communication at the University of Gothenburg where I had the chance to learn most things around communication and it’s fields of application.
In the past years I also worked as a junior project manager for italienska Handelskammaren in Stockholm, where I followed the development of a EU funded project for two years, alongside 6 international partners.
My role required a high level of creativity. I was in charge of creating compelling content, such as developing content for the project training courses, designed visually appealing materials and managing social media platforms and the official project website.
In my experience I also had the opportunity to see the behind the scenes and help with event organisation and planning, something that really interested me from the moment I started.
So when I saw the possibility to help for event organizing and communication for Handlingar I thought it was a perfect fit. This is why I am happy to be able to volunteer here, combining my knowledge and experience to help the cause.
I have been in Sweden for the past three years, switching between Stockholm and Gothenburg and currently trying to become fluent in the language!

Hej!
I am Radosław and I am a medical researcher based in Stockholm. I am studying bioinformatics and enjoy working with databases. I consider the ease of access to information to be an extremely important issue in our technology-driven times. I feel that projects like this can potentially help a lot of people by making the computerization of the public sector work as it is should and I would be happy to help with that.
