Cameroon e-digit agenda upgrading

During the techno holiday’s project geared at preparing fifty thousand youth’s in secondary schools and state universities for the digital age, some important challenges were identified. These include: in human learning conditions, overcrowded classes, gender imbalance, absence of teachers in class during school hours, absence or inadequate toilettes and latrines, no water points, absence of playgrounds, no computer labs, clandestine schools, extortion of funds from students by teachers and administrators, schools without roofs (even though students pay fees), schools located in danger zones, no visibility of school data etc.
These shortcomings have several consequences: students are exposed to diseases, poor performance in public exams, some students don’t sit for public exams because their schools are clandestine, parents make wrong choices because they lack authentic information on schools, illegal practices are encouraged, wrong investments due to absence of information
The goal of the Cameroon E-digit Agenda is to seek to deploy the use of digital mapping (open street mapping) and mobile technology to set up a web and mobile application that will improve the performance of the educational system.
This project is gearing to set up a platforms which will allow students to evaluate the standards of their schools, their administrators and teachers in a bid to promote good governance in the educational system.

The next meeting will be in Yaoundé

There, we will be discoursing on the challenges, this project will overcome
And the various strategist put in place to overcome this challenges
Like,
i. Digital mapping of secondary schools, with special attention to the following: availability of clean and hygienic toilets, water points, playground, girls to boys ratio, success in public exams, number of teachers and their availability in class, average number of students per class, the effective presence of a computer lab, Cost of education and illegal fees charged to students, legality of the institution, geographic location and number of schools present in each city in Cameroon.
ii. Data analysis and virtualization to showcase indicators of interest to teachers, government, investors, parents, students and world wishers. These indicators are aimed at igniting the necessity for public or private investments, guiding parent’s decision in choosing a school, a change in policy, an anticipation for the risk of potential health hazards, the need for government to investigate the school, a good reason why a school constitutes an environmental and social risk etc. Data will be used to design a mobile application for citizens to download for free
