The 4th Spanish Data Journalism Conference will take place in Madrid between 5th- 7th May, 2016. Keynote speakers at the event include dataviz team leader Kaeti Hinck from Washington Post, data journalism team leader Helena Bengtsson from The Guardian, Open News fellow Sandhya Kambhampati, former Open News fellow Marcos Vanetta, former School of Data fellow Antonio Cucho and Google News Lab leader Millán Berzosa.
Open Knowledge Spain is organizing the fourth edition of the conference. Four years ago we started to with the aim of fostering this new discipline in Spain. Nowadays a lot of people from different disciplines as graphic designers, social scientists, data analysts, programmers but mainly from journalism who want to get into Data Journalism will participate in this three-day event.
For three days, participants will be able to attend workshops led by experts who will teach participants how to work with data and the main tools to locate, convert and display data: web scraping, spreadsheets, visualization tools, CartoDB, Python, R, D3js, SQL, social media, VR and more topics to come: you shape the agenda!
Participants will also be able to participate in BarCamp, a space where data journalism projects will be presented to share methodologies and create synergies.
