So as you might have noticed - working with fiscal data is not a cake walk. During our GODI review as well as in our daily encounters with journalists, activists or even government officials, there is confusion around fiscal data categories such as spending and budget: What do they actually mean, what do they comprise of etc.
We hope to bring more clarity with this blog post in which we explain the differences between the fiscal data categories. Thank you to @dannylammerhirt and @adam on this.
And we wonβt stop here. During the next months you will not only see more stories around the different aspects of fiscal transparency (such as participatory budgeting or what we can learn from Greece when it comes to spending data) - we also want to raise awareness why access to transactional spending data is so important, and to whom.
