National Workshop on Open Government Data Sensitization, Gap Assessment and Strategic Planning

The Division for Public Administration and Development Management of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UDESA/DPADM), in collaboration with the National Information Commission of Government of Nepal organized a national workshop on Open Government Data Sensitization, Gap Assessment and Strategic Planning on the date 3 to 5 November 2015 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The workshop objective was to sensitizing high level authorities, engaging with the key Open Government Data (OGD) ecosystem stakeholders, and providing sufficient inputs for the preparation of an national OGD Action Plan.

What was to role of Open Knowledge Nepal at workshop?

Open Knowledge Nepal was one of the active Civil Society who helped organizer throughout the workshop. Four volunteer of Open Knowledge Nepal take part and one volunteer also gave presentation at workshop on the topic “Availability of OGD in Nepal” , where he talked about Local and Global Open Data Index & Open Data Baromete. Open Knowledge Nepal also handled two workshop session for all 3 days and now will be working as on of the key civil society to implement & prepare national OGD Action Plan here in Nepal.
