SPDX IDs for approved licenses

I noticed in https://github.com/spdx/license-list-XML/issues/1112 a SPDX ID request for OGDL-Taiwan-1.0 and was reminded that several other licenses that we’ve approved don’t have SPDX IDs, or our materials use a slightly different identifier.

Made a start at alignment on the conforming licenses page in https://github.com/okfn/opendefinition/pull/209

There are certainly other places, but that’s the most visible one.

A strong plea for one single consistent complete set of license identifiers for data-capable licenses in regular use. R.

ISO/IEC 5230:2020

The SPDX identifiers are now part of the new ISO/IEC specification indicated. The official PDF is expensive but the following document is “functionally identical”:

  • Joint Development Foundation (2020). OpenChain Specification — Version 2.1. Joint Development Foundation. This Specification is functionally identical to ISO/IEC 5230:2020. Licensed under Creative Commons CC‑BY‑4.0.
