This is a discussion about the submission for postcodes / in.

The dataset (All India Pincode directory with contact details along with Latitude and longitude) is available in CSV format at Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India and Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India. The information available on OGD India and is completely open for reuse and further studies and research. Many Applications have also been developed using this data. The data is also available at http://www.indiapost.gov.in/pin/. The data consists of pincodes along with post office information like address and postal code. The data can also be searched by location or pincode on http://www.indiapost.gov.in/. All the data published on Open Government Data Platform India are Open and comes under the Government Open Data License (GODL), which can be accessed at https://data.gov.in/sites/default/files/Gazette_Notification_OGDL.pdf. All the data are totally free to use, reuse and redistribute for all lawful commercial and non-commercial purposes.

Thanks for the information. I checked the data and it seems that it contains addresses of each post office. This is great, but we in fact assess postcodes plus all addresses within post code areas, including streets and house numbers. Therefore this dataset is not compliant with our definitions. But I’m happy to add the information you sent us because it is valuable for anyone who is interested in this data.
