Many organizations such as PWYP, Open Oil and NRGI in the extractives transparency community are using data to develop tools, conduct research and policy analysis. I am therefore now updating a list tools, projects and investigations which are using extractives data to help users and new comers to the field get an overview.
To share a few recent examples: at NRGI we have used text mining to analyze the content of oil and mining contracts and we are analyzing how granular data at project level can be analysed. We have also developed tools to standardize and present tabular project level dislosures.
