Turn CKAN framework into an E-commerce platform

Hi there,

Data has become more and more popular for organisations to monetize. CKAN is a platform to share data. Is CKAN framework able to support e-commerce and to be able to sell the shared data to other people and create a data marketplace?

I don’t have specifics here, but off the top of my head, CKAN does not natively support e-comm and/or selling data.
It is open source, so anyone can fork it and add those features.
On a personal level, if you were to do that, remember to donate to CKAN and any other open source community you will be building off of/relying on for support.
