Using Machine Learning to Obtain Open Data for GLAMs

Tomorrow, I will be doing a talk at the OER 2016 conference in the John McIntyre Conference Centre in Pollock Halls. It’ll be an overview of the honours project I did with the help of @ewan_klein and @GillHamilton on using machine learning to extract searchable and open databases of Post Office directories from around the turn of the 20th century. If anyone is attending the conference and is interested then I’ll be presenting in the Pentland (West) room at 11:45. An abstract of the project can be found here.

Hope to see some of you there

To anyone who missed the presentation but is interested, you can see it here. It starts about 55 minutes in.
