My name is Susanna Ånäs. I am starting as Interim Executive Director of Open Knowledge Finland from 1 April, following Janne Peltola, who is leaving the position.
I am a founding member of OKFI, recently focusing on running the AvoinGLAM working group for Open Culture in the crossroads of Open Knowledge, Creative Commons and Wikimedia. I will continue in this role at the same time.
This year, we want to bring the communities advocating for responsible Open Access to data, science and culture closer together in Finland. AvoinGLAM arranges AI Sauna – a co-creation event on the future interactions between AI, open culture and cultural heritage, in Helsinki on 6-7 May 2024, and a symposium on archiving the history of media art in the Netherlands in the autumn.
