I have started a project to put historic British and U.K. legislation online in machine- and human- readable plain text, with accompanying metadata.
At the moment, this consists of the OCRd text of around 130 volumes of various series (such as The Statutes At Large, The Public General Acts etc) of collections of statutes. I am now working on correcting the more obvious OCR errors, and on producing a table of legislation passed over the 18th and 19th centuries.
Naturally, everything is public domain.
